Adrant was a fun, but tough one. He's a warlock paladin combo, with all the colour choice of Batman at a funeral. Painting edgy dark characters is always fun, but you have to really commit to make it work, otherwise it can have a lukewarm vibe to it. So. to remedy that, i went ham, getting into all the gothic detailing that originally was given to me by the commissioner. I took the pose from actually giving the main using a chain weapon and kite shield. The overall lashing effect works really well for a bit of movement, and it frames him and the Quasit, who was immensely fun to paint, quite nicely. I hadn't painted any monsters for some time at that point, so it was refreshing to explore difference face shapes and put a touch of realism into the official artworks design for the species. Hope you guys like him!
