Funnily enough, a week on since Mastodon introduced quote toots and apart from a small flurry of tests at the beginning, I don't think I've seen a single actual instance of one in the wild.

A somewhat transparent overlay covers the toot being boosted, with a menu at the very bottom offering two choices, Boost and Quote with the added note "You are not allowed to quote this post"

The quote toot feature has reached my instance and I already hate it for the user interface.
Mostly I want to Boost, so the extra step with the Quote-but-you-can't button is just annoying.
I would have preferred to have it in the three dots extra menu.
