The last of my #reads2025 was „Piranesi“ by Susanna Clarke,
uttlerly otherworldly indeed, how @theguardian.com wrote about the book. There is a labyrinth of halls overloaded with sculptures on three levels, in which the main character Piranesi lives. A good read at the end of the year.

46. was a christmas read. A cozy book, but brief critique: How she fucked a country gentleman at Christmas, smashed an entire castle, and only by luck found a valuable book.😜😂

42. was "James" by Percival Everett. Yes, it´s the Mark Twain Story, but now told with the eyes of Jim, one of two major characters in the classic 1884 novel.

30. Best SF in my #reads2025 was „This Is How You Lose the Time War“ von Amal el-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It´s a phantastic epistolary novel, not easy to read, but mavellous❣️

27. of my #reads2025 was another audiobook, read by Nina Hoss, and it was maybe Dörte Hansens best book named "Zur See". The book is about family Sanders, frisian minority living of an northsea isle. The stories of Hanne, Jens, Rykmer, Eske und Henrik touched my heart. 💔🥹

My #reads2025 21. was Umlaufbahnen (Orbital) by Samantha Harvey. It´s Science Fiction or just a meditation ? I don´t know. Nothin new at all, but today it is booker prize worth.
22. was the first part of "Joseph und seine Brüder" by the german author Thomas Mann. It´s the story of Joseph (Genesis).

6. of my #reads2025 was a cosy fantasy novel, too. It´s not very complicated, but nearly perfect. After reading, you'll want to keep little dragons at home that can also make beds and do the dishes, instead of those temperamental cats… 😉🐉

my 2. #reads2025 was "Murder at the bookstore" by Sue Minix (in engl.), there was a taff fem. librarian, too. But only as a sidekick. The main character is a mystery writer. And the 3. book had its librarian, too. Mr. Allison plays a small role but an important for the main ch. Addie, a lass from 🏴.
