A framed portrait of Dr. Humphry Osmond, with a quote on the right. The quote reads: "We take a long time to get used to our world. We take many years, in fact. And when it changes—suddenly, dramatically—we may not like this." Dr. Humphry Osmond - end quote. In a letter to Aldous Huxley, Humphry Osmond, a world-renowned psychologist, psychiatrist and researcher, first coined the term "psychedelic" with the following rhyme: "to phathom hell or soar angelic, just take a pinch of psychedelic," in reply to Huxley's "to make this trivial world sublime, take half a gram of phanerothyme." In their exchange of letters, during the 1950s, they intended to come up with a word to describe, in general, the effects of mescaline. Osmond's amalgamated term "psychedelic" stuck. with Love, KC Quotes
