Today marks 35 years since the École Polytechnique massacre. The 14 victims were targeted because they were women studying engineering. The hatred of women that led to this remains in full force today.
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when this news came in. I had just started university in Montreal, and my mother called me from the States in a panic to make sure I was OK. That terrible day changed the city and the country permanently. #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #RememberThe14

35 years ago, a misogynist entered the Ecole Polytecnique and methodically singled out and shot as many women as he could. 14 died that day, and the image contains all of their names.
We remember them and let his name fade, so that those who think of gaining infamy know using a gun will render them forgotten.
