I've been in a similar sitch-- we were evicted years ago. If friends and family-- and Pam from Edgar's Mission-- hadn't been able to assist, it would have been awful. I really feel for her, and the birds. So yeah, stepping up and paying it forward and all that stuff. #rescuepigeons

Amber update! (Day 11) She's now 231 grams! (185 when she came in). Floofs up defensively (second pic) when she's annoyed. One of the puncture wounds has healed and the swelling gone.
The resilience of pigeons amazes me.

Amber is still kicking, looks a bit better, but has been attacked by something, is missing lots of feathers (including most of her tail), had stringfoot & has what I think is a nasty respiratory infection. Painfully skinny. She's still eating and moving around though. Fingers crossed. #rescuepigeons

This is why we do what we do, but it's rare to see a "some time later" unless you're frequently hanging out with that flock. You just do what you can and hope you have given these birds some comfort and relief and that they will be all right.
