Sweets, Twister, and Fantasies 4.5 stars - This is my second book by C.L. Rose. At the onset, I honestly wondered if the first book I read was an anomaly, but I kept going. OMG! Let me tell you. Once I got past the first few chapters...? Yeah, not an anomaly at all; just a slow start. Ace Mathers and Lark "Sweets" (Whitlock) Dawson are hotter than Hades! I have never been so interested in a Human Sexuality class. Hooo-llly! 🥵🔥🥵 -- book quote I can’t get over how toned and muscular he is, but I’m going to need to figure out a way to block it out so I don’t get distracted. He’s hired me to do a job, and that’s what I need to focus on. -- Lark Dawson I love how they slowly explore their chemistry. They are open, honest, and bare their insecurities and fantasies throughout. The role playing and other fun that they engage in, wholesome as well as very much not, is awesome. I love that they talk about fantasies and kinks and explore them together. As mentioned, they both have baggage, but I love how they slowly open up about it and support each other. They build a healthy relationship that's cute, sweet, funny, and heat filled. I truly enjoyed getting to know these characters, and I look forward to getting glimpses of them in future series books. Review: Taking One (& Some) from the Team 4.5 stars - Debra's complete turnabout would be hilarious if this weren't so. Stinking. Hot! 🔥😜 Did she get under my skin throughout much of the series? Absolutely, but she proves to be a worthy participant as she closes out the year (and series). 'In that moment of pure terror, only one thought crashes through my mind–if something happens to me, Vincent will always think I'm unhappy with our marriage. The truth is so far from that, and the idea of leaving him with that doubt makes me feel sick in a way that has nothing to do with the skidding bus.x -- Debra There isn't a lot of face-to-face time spent with Vincent, her husband. He comes off as a quiet type, but he still makes his thoughts crystal clear, which I appreciate. The encouragement to follow the hotwife path, overall support, and the way he reclaims his wife is perfection. As for Liam, "Shaggy," and the rest of the soccer team, well.... You know the saying, 'Youth is wasted on the young?' It feels true here. Their refractory times make even me blush, and that's saying something. (God bless fiction writers!) A second round with just a few would've been fun, but I was already feeling the phantom aches from one night of debauchery, so I'm not complaining. I hope this isn't the end of the road for our naughty couples, but if it is, I had so much fun reading each book and definitely recommend them. I should note that reading the entire series isn't necessary, but you'll understand some context better.
