This is the Bernice Vase, in honor of a wonderful aunt the clan kids shared. I remembered her making me some doll clothes that had the sweetest little flowers embroidered on them. I can't count how many of us loved her dearly.

Two bisque vases sitting on my workbench that have been designed using the cuerda seca technique. One is a low vase carved with texture and 3 dragonflies circle the opening. The other is tall and has a repeating design of wheat stalks.
I've no idea how the wheat vase will turn out, so we'll both find out together! I'm done for the day...and maybe the rest of the week as we take care of some medical stuff. Have a super "rest of the week 😁

True confessions. I love runny glazes but I don't get to use them with the type of work I do. I planned for runs on the sweet pea... So we'll see how that goes. The "leaf" vase hasnt got a name yet. Just need to finish the rim on that one. Hope your day was great!

And now we wait! I just turned off the kiln as I fired the clock today.
I also remembered to pull back my hair before I looked in the peephole of the kiln this time. Now I won't have to explain to my hairdresser why my hair is burnt off! 😂 See you in the morning!!

They got stripped of their plastic today as they finally are ready to dry a little quicker. The dragonfly on the bottom isn't quite ready though. It's still going to be awhile until I can bisque fire.
