Wright Motorsports' Adam Adelson, Callum Ilott and Tom Sargent finished third in GT Daytona instead.

The overtake which sealed the Ferrari victory came on the final lap, when Tom Gamble made a small error in Turn 10. Dudu Barrichello, Gamble and Zach Robichon in the Heart of Racing Aston Martin had to settle for second place.

AF Corse USA recovered from three drive-through penalties in GT Daytona and Antonio Fuoco fought his way from seventh to the lead in the final 17 minutes to win his class in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring alongside Simon Mann and Lilou Wadoux.

Estre said post-race that Nasr had "not respected" team orders. The Brazilian was instructed to let Estre, who was on new tires, through near the end of the eleventh hour. Nasr retook the lead with a daring pass at Sunset Bend some seven minutes later.
