A chap tells me he was born in 1958, and spent the 60s collecting Northern Soul records. He then sold the lot to a DJ in the 70s when he got into prog instead. He remains happy with his decision. #sellingvinyl

A young woman is on the phone while browsing, for 10 minutes. When she hangs up, I ask if I can help. She was talking to her dad. He kept his records in the loft when he left home, and his mum gave them all away without him knowing. So she is now helping him buy them all again #sellingvinyl
A lady browses. She tells me she doesn’t own a record player, but loves the memories. I put Steely Dan on, and she almost melts, can picture the room she was in when she first heard the track, Hey Nineteen #sellingvinyl
Dad comes into my stall area, with two boys aged around three and four behind him. They clasp their hands over their ears to block out the Bob Marley and the Wailer‘s Live album I’m playing, and run away. #SellingVinyl
Chap compliments my hat. He has one, never seen anyone wearing one. I say I got mine in Copenhagen. He says he got his in Prague. We call it a draw. #sellingvinyl
I'm #sellingvinyl at the Windmill Hill market in Bedminster today. Come and say hi! Some great chats already. One fella tells me that his wife thinks he's got 500 records He's actually got... 10,000! They're in the loft, behind mdf panelling round the sides.

A neighbouring trader is selling multicoloured muppet-like hand puppets. She has one on her hand, which talks to the children. I look over. There is no one at her stall, and she is staring into middle distance. The puppet, however, is singing along to the Talking Heads I'm playing #sellingvinyl
A local record shop owner comes and says hi. We have a long chat, and conclude than anyone who buys and sells vinyl, either for a living or (like me) a hobby, has a form of addiction. #sellingvinyl
I play Bow Down Mister by Jesus Loves You. It goes into the upbeat dance section. A ladt comes over and reminisces about when she was young and would go clubbing Friday night and crawl into bed in the early hours of Monday morning, then go to work. Just. #sellingvinyl

Chap in his 60s tells me that his step brother in the 1970s was the son of Tom McGuinness, of Manfred Mann, Blues Band and McGuinness Flint. Step bro used to get his dad to sign lots of autographs, which he'd take to school and sell #sellingvinyl
Nice chat with a lady in her 60s about how certain songs bring back memories. She says one song she heard on the radio took her straight back to being a little girl and her father singing it around the house, loudly and out of tune #sellingvinyl
Today's toddler dancing is a little girl strutting her stuff to Rope-A-Dope by The New Mastersounds #sellingvinyl

I'm at Tobacco Factory market #sellingvinyl today. Looking forward to some great music chats and stories from punters. Best day would be if someone sold ME some records, I will be honest!!
Rain has arrived. Luckily, I'm under a tent. The more discerning punters decide to wait out the showers while browsing through my stock and enjoying the New Mastersounds album I'm playing. Party time! #sellingvinyl
Chao is browsing wearing a cap that says 'Independent Tropical Wales'. We discuss which one we think is going to happen first #sellingvinyl
Nice chat with a young chap as he browses. Asks me if this is my personal collection. As if I'd sell that! I explain that I buy a collection, and if there's any I don't have, I keep them. He says that he loves classic cars, so maybe one day he'll do the same with them! #sellingvinyl
I'm at Tobacco Factory Sunday Market today. Come and say hi! Or sell me your record collection. Or both! #sellingvinyl
A really joyful day #sellingvinyl today. One of the best things I've done is to pursue my hobby of loving and collecting music, and sharing it with others. Fellow stall holders, customers, the organisers - everyone contributes to a really fulfilling experience.
I’m #sellingvinyl at Tobacco Factory market today. I have a clearance box of 80s albums, £5 each. A young chap in his twenties indignantly asks why I am selling albums from the 80s so cheap
I'm playing Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas. A fellow stallholder comes over and says "I've got a present for you!". #sellingvinyl
