Also, sorry to the button picking hive mind out there, my last two shirts had slam dunk options that I had no doubts about. I have some older Czech glass buttons that I think are gonna work really nicely here #sewingbullshit

cpp of my current sewing project, a button up short sleeved shirt made from like six different fabrics. It's lying on top of the ironing board and the collar & stand haven't yet been sewn on but pretty much everything else has been.

Cpp of my current mini sewing project, making two small cushions for a [barbie] doll sized sofa i found at a goodwill for a buck. The sofa is covered in a bright multi colored print of cartoon jungle animals and green leaves, and my cushions are made from three different black, white, and or silver scraps left over from 3 different skirts I've made for myself over the years. The cushions are four layers of a thick poly felt that i basted together to prevent shifting as illustrated in the uncovered cushion leaning against the sofa. The felt is from the free bins at the evanston wasteshed because it was minorly used as a stamping experiment.

Cpp of my just begun sewing project made of probably six different fabrics. This is the pieces making up the back of a blouse: the center back upper bodice is cut down the center, and the lower bodice is three different fabrics paneled vertically.

Close up selfie of me, white lady, wearing my just finished scalloped blouse from a yellow, green, and white watercolor floral quilting cotton. I'm holding the top-most pearl snap of the center front closure out to showcase how nicely it matches the fabric and smiling proudly.

And she's done! Well I just need to sew in a couple labels and tack down the facing. I didn't even need to ask for button opinions because these little printed pearl snaps were just the ticket 💚💛 #sewingbullshit

cpp of my current sewing project upon which I just finished topstitching the final scalloped edge with a dark green thread. The top is still under the machine's presserfoot with the thread spool on the spindle and about 20" of thread to spare.

Confirming for us sewing folk here that occasionally the sewing deities let you win a game a thread chicken. Thanks sewing deities!

Selfie of me, white lady with a nice big smile, and a soft fluffy white and tabby foster cat with soft green eyes named bighorn, whom I call mr big, comfily perched on my chest with his paws on my neck making biscuits. My sewing table with various fabrics on it is in the backend, with my current project in there too.

Very sunlit pic of some just pressed scallops for a blouse peplum. The fabric is a green yellow and white watercolor-esque cotton print and my white lady left hand is holding the pressed edge above the ironing board

An off kilter pic of my cutting table that feels applicable to my general brain state right now: there is a blue and white yarn dyed check fabric that has had a couple of scalloped pattern pieces cut from it, a half empty bourbon & coke in a green swirl printed pilsner glass, and a pair of octagonal champagne flutes as well as my very full wardrobe stand behind

Decided I wanted more scallops, which are fabulous but time consuming, so uh... see ya in like two months #sewingbullshit

Pic of five different fabrics laid out so you can see detail for three project ideas i have in the works: a mottled olive green abstract floral jacquard with a rayon sheen, an openwork black lace with yellow flowers with a beige cotton fabric I'll use for facings to highlight the design, a green and yellow watercolor floral quilting cotton, and a blue and white woven during with a tiny houndstooth and grid design

OKAY y'all I gotta get back on my #sewingbullshit. Thinking of a slip dress from the olive jacquard, a button up from the black & goldenrod floral lace, and another buttonup from the green & yellow floral watercolor with the blue and white woven grid-check as contrast facing

Before pic of what my (unbleached cotton twill) ironing board cover looked like, with old water stains & scorch marks, next to the new twill fabric I picked out to recover it. The new fabric is a white cotton twill with a watercolor ish print of white people engaged in tropical beach activities like waterskiing, surfing, boating scuba diving. It is a print from the American Folk & Fabric inc. vintage collection called Paradise Island, pattern #SS 5211

okay well I finally replaced my dang ironing board cover.
I also might use the leftover to make a sundress because it's cool if you dress like your ironing board cover right? kids today call that tactic "surf party usa" #sewingbullshit

cpp of my latest sewing project, a scalloped edge blouse made with an aqua and white geometric cloque cotton fabric. There are six bound buttonholes down the closure strip which look pretty good but were too small for me to stitch perfectly: there's a hem gauge next to a buttonhole showing it to be right at five eighths of an inch or about 1.7 centimeters

okay i think a 5/8" bound buttonhole is too small, for future reference. I'll make these bad boys work but TALK about tedious #sewingbullshit

Pic of my (white lady) left hand holding up the closure strip of a blouse in front of my little sewing machine. I'm about halfway done sewing bound buttonholes on an aqua and white geometric print irregularly puckered cotton fabric, and the finished buttonholes are about 5/8 of an inch so they are small, my stitch length is very tiny, and it is taking very long to sew so precisely. They will, however, look fabulous so it's worth it.
