It shouldn’t have been possible. He shouldn’t be able to do this. As quickly as his lips found mine, they were gone. “We will be in Nesuria in a month’s time. Jaicyn has almost found a way to cross the Waste Lands. You must tell Soleth about what you saw here. Go, now.” “Please, let me stay.” I reached out to touch the side of his face, but he took my hand in his and kissed my knuckles, shaking his head.

Probably one of my more favorite scenes from Desiccate, inspired by *that* Doctor Who scene.
