Great point. We have a lot of evidence that drugs like #mirtazapine is only effective at improving appetite if #depression is the cause and we have better depression drugs. Insufficient evidence to recommend in populations doesn't mean individual patients don't benefit. #SharedDecision #hapc25

#SharedDecision: some #IBD pts want therapy holiday, esp with traumas & appts.
Any previous response to x tx.
Clean slate mindset depending upon surgical findings.
𝐏𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞.
Any EIMs prior to surgery & if tx is encompassing or await recovery to reassess if EIMs calm along with the gut inflammation.
