“I think…” Sigma needed some extra few seconds to conjure the rest of what they were going to say; trying to speak while being kissed in a way that made his whole being melt tended to have that effect. “I forgot to lock the door?”
Sure, the chances of being interrupted via someone walking in unannounced were comically low, but he would rather turn them into zero.
Especially since they were currently at Sigma’s apartment at the Agency’s dorms.
(No, he didn’t fear getting kicked out over being found with Nikolai there-- such fear had been dissipated by learning how one’s dating pool consisting of former enemies was hilariously common there… so much those who didn’t could be finger counted with just one hand.
Also, Sigma himself was in the ‘former enemies’ list too, so. Not wanting any disruptions had way more to do with losing the moment’s magic, really.)
“Got it, pookie.” Nikolai instantly replied, not bothering to pull away. Plus, why would he need to, when his ability allowed him to reach even further than the other side of the room? And so, on Sigma’s peripheral vision, they saw the characteristic glow signaling Nikolai’s portals opening up. Then, the sound of a key being turned came shortly after, and the portal was no more.
“Thanks, dear.” Was his immediate answer, as Nikolai’s arms were positioned back around Sigma’s waist and back where they belong. Meanwhile, Sigma wrapped theirs even tighter around his boyfriend’s neck, deepening the hug as Nikolai did the same with the kisses.
“Your wish is my command, Sig.” He had barely even finished speaking when both shared a few giggles. “Besides, it was too in my best interest.”
“Never doubted it.” Sigma smirked into yet another kiss.
Kunikida couldn’t say he had any specific feelings about that song at all-- not directly, at least.
It was some pop song which had made its big entrance into the radio charts and everyone’s lives suddenly and intensely, rising in popularity with remarkable speed as they usually did; nothing he hated but not something that had particularly caught his interest either.
But, and that was the key of the question, it had caught Dazai’s.
Once the song had established its presence everywhere, it had obviously seeped into the repertoire some of his fellow detectives hummed while carrying out tasks which didn’t need a lot of focus or when going somewhere. Naomi had been the first to fall for its charms, then Dazai was the next in line. Thus, Kunikida had been subjected to it more than enough times to recognize it no matter what. And so, it didn’t take him more than a minute to start playing it, once they were both in the car and he was waiting for Dazai to properly balance the cake the two of them were supposed to pick up for Kenji’s birthday.
“One would think you’d be tired of that one already, Kunikida-kun.” Was the first comment he got in response, and Kunikida didn’t need to look away from the car parked right in front of theirs to know Dazai was smirking like he usually did when he had caught someone red-handed.
“It’s not one of those that gets repetitive.” He replied in an instant, shrugging. “Not to me, at least.” Especially not when his partner seemed to be enjoying it.
“Then maybe I’m losing my touch, damn.”
“Oh, so you’re trying to annoy me with that song?” Now, Kunikida couldn’t help but turn his head towards him. Besides, it was no issue; the car’s engine was still off, after all.
“Nah.” Dazai admitted, giggling. “If I were trying, you’d be pissed off badly at this point, right?” After a mere split second, both let out a brief laugh.
“Guess so, yeah.”
