Silent is usually a gift giver. Normally said gift must be something that has been specifically requested of him, as he is not imaginative when deciding what a perfect "gift" should be. During Starlight, Silent will often outright ask what a preferred gift would be.

His first kill was his own mother, who was tempered by Ifrit during an Amalj'aa raid when he was 13. The guilt messed him up for a long time, and learning later that tempering could be undone...gave him conflicted feelings, but what is done is done.
