I can tell by the confused look on some of your faces that you don’t celebrate Snakesgiving in your world… yet. Although, I’m sure you’re all familiar with St. Patrick and how he legendarily drove the snakes out of Ireland. But where did those snakes go? The snakes spent a few generations tossing and roiling in the cruel ocean until they washed up in America - New England to be exact. With this sudden influx of Irish snakes, people didn’t know what to do. Shrewd American industrialists, always trying to make a quick buck, rebranded the snake epidemic as a blessing. Through the miracle of advertising, they founded Snakesgiving, a perfect way to celebrate spring, honor your loved ones, and curb the overpopulation of invasive Irish snakes. The art depicts: Snakes! St. Patrick making a bunch of snakes leap off a cliff. Snakes roiling in the sea. Snakes arriving on a beach with three early 1900s American businessmen scrutinizing them, a billboard with a cartoon snake on it, a cameo of two of my comic book characters, Grabman and Violet Hammer exchanging grilled snakes, lots of crosshatching.
