Lots of progress on #slimeonline the last days. Digging is in, but server is lacking the loottable. I am not doing any coding currently as I am sick… so I am creating maps instead. Already got 5 new maps in! Will add the loottable for next release #gamemaker #gamedev #indiegame #solodev #indiedev
Invested some time to make the cave map more interesting. Mushrooms now glow (not all yet), there is now a tileset-background, underwater plants, water bubbles. More will be added, but these are a nice addition already #gamedev #gamemaker #slimeonline #indiedev #indiegame #solodev

About done with the hotbar! Only thing left is a tiny bugfix regarding a wrong color being applied when drawing stack-size and maybe some (not as bad) z-depth ordering

More progress on the hotbar. Properly showing amount / remaining uses. Cooldowns visualized with clock icon and blend color. Items with unlimited uses get a unlimited icon shown. Next will be getting the images centered within the slots. #gamedev #gamemaker #slimeonline

Currently working on implementing a hotbar for fast item use. I had to go through some bigger refactoring regarding the login process, but its all worth it. Working very rudimentary fornow. Missing sfx and visualization of cooldowns, no fade-out. But it's a start! #gamedev #slimeonline #gamemaker

This took a while cause I need a sequence of callback functions through inventory and other instances due to some useables wanting player setup input before informing the server. Currently working on getting useable-type items into the game. These will include stuff such as teleporters, random boxes, potions... everything that can be "used". These will also be the first items that can stack or have a durability (100 out of 200 charges left). #gamedev #slimeonline #gamemaker

Fixing memory-leaks at 01:30AM ...so much fun xD Adding spatial grids for better position syncing between players in #slimeonline introduced some memory leaks... but I finally got it fixed! #gamedev #gamemaker
Nearly done replacing the old platform engine with a fsm-based platform engine. Just finished adding "bounce pads" which will repell the player. Hope to put those to good use in the mountain maps :) #gamedev #gamemaker #slimeonline
Been way too long, but I finally got the server running again with a new client that uses UDP to sync player positions with a steady stream of packets. Everything is very smooth now, even when somebody has a 300ms ping. Good progress! #gamedev #gamemaker #slimeonline
