A frozen Bridal Veil Falls is a 60' high sheet of white ice. People are playing on it and attempting to climb it.
Spearfish Creek meandering through snow and pine trees. A snow covered rock sits in the middle of the creek. Although this photo doesn't show them we saw several anglers fishing today. Because the creek moves so fast it doesn't freeze over.
The Latchstring Restaurant, a more than 100 year old brown, log-style rustic building nestled into the tall, brown rocks of the canyon.
We drove through Spearfish Canyon today, in South Dakota's Northern Black Hills. The ancient walls are as high as 1,000 feet. The roadway follows the path of an old railroad that was washed out. There is an explanation with each photo.
