THANK YOU - for all the messages and support we are seeing in response to our legal challenge to the continued dumping of dredged sediment near Brighton. 🌊

The reaction shows just how much backing there is for real protection of our coastal habitats.

This is outrageous. Great fanfare about long overdue marine protections being established, whilst relicensing of environmentally destructive dumping is granted -To keep the posh yachts in Brighton Marina afloat. Good luck to SWT. Bung them a few quid for the war chest.

If 100,000 tonnes of sediment was being dumped on a nature reserve every year there would be outrage. So why is this allowed in Beachy Head West Marine Conservation Zone?

We’re taking legal action to ensure marine protected areas are actually protected.

Our ‘protected’ chalk reef is set to have sediment dumped on it for another 10 years – so we’re seeking a judicial review. It’s a fight not only for the Sussex coast, but for of all 91 Marine Conservation Zones around the English coast.

We're taking legal action to stop 100,000 tonnes of sediment being dumped in Beachy Head West Marine Conservation Zone every year for the next 10 years. This should not be allowed in a protected area.
