Front view of Taravangian, a slender, elderly man in royal orange and white robes with heavy gold embroidery. He wears a flat topped orange hat with a gold band, and has white hair and a long white beard. His left hand rests on a wooden staff, while his right arm is tucked behind him. On the stone books with colorful ribbon markers and pages with faded writing are scattered at his feet.
Left side view of Taravangian, arm resting on wooden staff in the foreground. Some of the book pages are visible with writing on them. Wish I had taken a top-down view of them! They are nearly microscopic and it took a lot of practice to get that part right! 😆
Right side view of Taravangian, his curved stature and long beard clearly visible. His right arm is bent behind his back at waist height. The gold thorn embroidery on his robes took many attempts, but I am happy with this look. In my own head canon, Taravangian’s robes were embroidered in white when we meet him in The Way of Kings, but by Words of Radiance, he has subconsciously been moving away from appearing as humble as he used to aim for and is subtly incorporating elements of gold.
Rear view of Taravangian, King of Karbranth. His right hand, hidden from front and side views, can be seen to have the first two fingers crossed in the liar’s signal. The cuffs and scarf of his robes are white, and the back of his robes are orange and gold.
