A photo taken in Kyoto last July outside a shop specializing in sukajan reversible jackets sporting cool images. 3 pictured: Godzilla essentially inserted into iconic Japanese painting THE GREAT WAVE OFF KANAGAWA, anime Cobra that I've heard characterized (by a friend in the know) as "basically Lupin in space", and the reason I would have been taking this photo, a jacket featuring a scene from LUPIN III: THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO. They had 5+ Lupin jackets at this shop, and I vascillated between buying each of them before settling on one with which I've been very happy (and which I schlepped around and even wore on occasion during what turned out to be the hottest summer on record in Asia, this past July and August.)

Someday I'll find the term #sukajan is at the ready in my memory banks w/o any auxiliary technological assistance, but apparently this image finds me still learning since I had to refer to old correspondence w/ someone who'd flagged me on the streets of West Adams as I wore one just back from Kyoto.
