Yeah, the emotional beats still hit really well on rewatch, and the made up mythology/magic system has an internal consistency that works within the story without being distracting. Animation isn't super flashy but looks good when it needs to without any noticeable slumps. #sukasuka

In the anime he doesn't teach much except how the legendary weapons were originally used via a single duel since they had basically been brute forcing fights, but it does feel like they must have learned more than that and it got cut. #sukasuka
Occasionally you see little Pac-Man like creatures in the background. They go completely unexplained. #sukasuka
Willem apparently isn't a scalie as he felt nothing while watching a romantic film about 2 lizards. #sukasuka

Also the story takes place 525 years after humanity was wiped out and a troll wants to eat him, but that's more like flirting. #sukasuka
Willem is actually good with kids and pretty laid-back given the circumstances, he's one of those main characters where you kinda get why he's so well liked within the story. #sukasuka
