Improvements in perovskite technology plus a tandem cell are major advance. Chinese companies #Trinasolar & #LONGi results have been certified by USNationalRenewableEnergyLab. #Qcells, HQ SouthKorea, has a manufacturing facility in GA & is also producing #tandemsolarcells

#Tandemsolarcells use stacked layers of different materials to capture a wider range of the solar spectrum, allowing modules to absorb >30% of the solar energy that shines on them. Traditional solar cells use only silicon because perovskite, though inexpensive, is less stable.
