Jane Pencil tests.
I tried to Jane develop as a character during the film. When we first see her she moves in a quick staccato way. Later, after meeting Tarzan, and more relaxed (& costume change), her animation is more "even", more smooth arced motion.

Jane Character Design;
At the start of the design process, a clothing "historian" brought in various pieces of Victorian era clothing, which was very helpful for us.

More Jane pencil tests;
The first few drawings are my rough "stick-figure" version of Jane; the remainder are my "tie down" drawings and "inbetweens" from an Assistant.
Tarzan was done first, by another animator. Then I animated Jane reacting.
