I attended my first academic conference last month with @sociologyaustralia.bsky.social and presented findings from my #PhD.
I outlined a framework that I designed to operationalise social practice theory in empirical research, including step-by-step instructions.

Yesterday, I presented at #TASA2024 (Sociology of Work, Labour & Economy stream). Two other excellent papers were delivered:
* 'Voices responding to harmful coloured lines' (Dino Concepcion)
* 'Opting for co-operative self-management' (Emma Lees).
Great discussion afterwards!
𧡠My top takeaways from #TASA2024 so far:
- Clinicians would benefit greatly from learning about social theories. Within current educational systems, this starts with tutors and lecturers
- Mass media manufactures discrimination, with real harms for patients who are already marginalised
Loving the literary vibe of #TASA2024 π π thanks to folks at our 9am (!) panel for the great discussions on writing, representation, ethics, imagination, creativity in classrooms and ChatGPT
Kylie Wrigley ensures young people's voices are heard in their conference presentation, as some are busy over at #RisingTide or tired out from #exams
