Yesterday, I presented at #TASA2024 (Sociology of Work, Labour & Economy stream). Two other excellent papers were delivered:
* 'Voices responding to harmful coloured lines' (Dino Concepcion)
* 'Opting for co-operative self-management' (Emma Lees).
Great discussion afterwards!
🧵 My top takeaways from #TASA2024 so far:
- Clinicians would benefit greatly from learning about social theories. Within current educational systems, this starts with tutors and lecturers
- Mass media manufactures discrimination, with real harms for patients who are already marginalised
Loving the literary vibe of #TASA2024 📚 💙 thanks to folks at our 9am (!) panel for the great discussions on writing, representation, ethics, imagination, creativity in classrooms and ChatGPT
