Watching Marsha Mason in #TheCheapDetective and The Goodbye Girl is awkward for me because I saw the hilarious SCTV parody of Simon's work ("Neil Simon's Nutcracker Suite" from their first Xmas show) and Andrea Martin's spoof of Mason was way too accurate... #FlicksForAll

Martin , at the time, was much more visual a writer than Simon. This is a noir comedy about language.
