A colour photograph of the west side of our timber-framed kitchen (the side with the door), showing white panels between oak timbers, and at the base, small cedar posts with saplings woven around them to create a wattle fence (I was teaching a hands-on class!). To the left, I am standing in the doorway of the kitchen, in English 1580s clothing (a straw hat with turkey and rooster tail feathers, a linen shift as underclothes, a blue pair of bodies/corset trimmed in green a white wool petticoat/skirt with thin vertical red stripes. Normally I would have sleeves or a doublet over my shirt sleeves; it was warm!, with an apron, and a knitted purse and a small knife hanging from my apron string). To the right is a little bit of the site, and another reenactor partially visible, dressed in a fine hat, doublet, and breeches. (And a dog! Always have a dog! :)) We are very proud of our event site; it’s small (max 40 people), but it is beautiful.

Why I’ve been so quiet the last week, not helped by mega migraine. We cut, soaked & wove this fence for a lavender plant.
Other things were done, it was an awesome day (even tho I missed the music.☹️)
