Outside his adventures, he had a safety net of other friends, a supporting family, and a hobby he enjoyed in track. He still loved his time fighting for the digital world but made sure it didn't take over his life. Renko started out as someone very susceptible to the digital world. He was a loner who looked down on those he believed to be less intelligent than him. But over tim, through fighting alongside his friends, by experiencing both failures and victories, and in the end helping in stopping a great danger, he grew to see the errors in his old ways and beliefs. He chanelled his intelligence and newfound love for technology and computers into his future studies and future career as a computer engineer. Hotaru, however, he got lost in the digital world. Neglecting family, friends, and school, spending every waking moment he could exploring the digital world. As he grew older, he spent less and less time in the human world, and in the end, he decided to not return. And why would he? He had dropped out, had no real friends left in the human world. Why should he leave the life of a digidestined to live a life as an adult? The few times he leaves the digital world, he finds it near impossible to talk to people. So thse rare occasions become more and more infrequent.
