#Titanic113: Under gloomy skies and heavy rain, the RMS Carpathia steams into New York City. She proceeds to the White Star Line's Pier 59 to offload the 13 of Titanic's lifeboats she had retrieved before she moves around to the Cunard Line's Pier 54 to offload the survivors.
Their journey is over.
#Titanic113: On Wednesday, 17th of April, the USS Chester rendezvous with the Carpathia and begins to escort her to New York. Titanic's surviving wireless operator Harold Bride assists Harold Cottam in transmitting the names of the survivors to the Chester.

After receiving Titanic’s distress calls, she travelled at her top speed of 17 knots in spite of the icebergs. She arrived at Titanic’s last known position at 3:30am and rescues 705 people from the lifeboats.

#Titanic113: The Carpathia finally arrives on the scene and begins to pick up the survivors. By this time, all of those who were thrown into the water after Titanic's final plunge have long since succumbed to hypothermia or drowning.
The total death toll eventually stands at over 1500 souls.
#Titanic113: Just 2 hours and 40 minutes after striking an iceberg, the majestic stern of the RMS Titanic slips beneath the surface of the Atlantic and vanishes from sight. Leaving a chaotic scene of people desperately attempting to climb onto debris to escape the freezing water.

#Titanic113: Titanic's radio operators send their final distress calls as the ship's electrical systems begin to fail. The stern of Titanic rears higher and higher into the air. Stressing her massive structure far beyond its designed limits, With a thunderous roar, Titanic's steel hull comes apart.
#Titanic113: As the increasing slant of the ship puts more and more stress on her structure, the cables supporting the foremost of Titanic's massive funnels begin to snap under the stress. With a great roar, the funnel collapses. Crushing several people to death below.
#Titanic113: By now, Titanic's bow has sunk deep enough that her massive bronze propellers are exposed above the water, Captain Smith dismisses his crew for the final time.
He is reportedly last seen on the bridge of the ship as it is swamped and submerged by the rapidly climbing water.
#Titanic113: Lifeboat Number 7. Designed to carry 65 people is launched from Titanic carrying only 27. Over the next two hours, 18 of the 20 lifeboats she carries are launched, carrying a total of 712 people.
There are still well over a thousand people left on Titanic.
