What I recieved for the Old World New Tricks painting contest from Travelling Man. The mini is a Black Orc standard bearer. The paints are AK11175 Sky Blue from AK (a baby blue paint), 72.020 Imperial Blue from Vallejo (a navy blue paint), Talisman Green from Two Thin Coats (basically Goblin Green), and Tree Ancient from Army Painter (a mid-to-dark brown). The basing material is Skadi Earth, which is a mid-blue sand.
Another thing I'm hoping I can do in the midst of a personal crisis is this season's @travellingmanuk.bsky.social painting contest, Old World New Tricks. And apparently they _really_ want this Black Orc to be blue in a blue field... #tmanpaintchallenge #oldworldnewtricks #miniaturepainting

Day 16 of the Age Of Painttober, and every part of the model has a layer of paint and at least some shading (base aside).
Now it's just a matter of adding highlights, so it's it's fit for a contest, not my usual flat drab!

The steampunk Hearthkyn again, this time with the addition of some dark blue clothing, some almost-black leather, and a pastel pink tube and housing for his steam drill.
Thought I was done for the day, but remembered that with three weeks to paint one model, I actually enjoy the process, so threw some more colours down.

My steampunk Hearthkyn, now featuring some dull copper armour and metal detailing, with notable turquiose verdigris in the recesses. The lighting is... subpar.
Day 13 of Painttober, and we've laid down the base of the armour. I'd say I've done a good job turning an extremely Brassy Brass into a weatherbeaten verdigris copper... now we just need to highlight it out of dull flatness without losing any of that!

My steampunk Hearthkyn, undercoated white, with his entire base painted a flat sand colour.
Day 9 of Painttober, and we have a tube for the steam drill, a fine white undercoat, and a whole ONE colour of paint! I'd have done basing with the sand as well, but my amazing command of time management made its appearance.

My #ageofpainttober #tmanpaintchallenge has arrived! Very interesting limited pallette from Travelling Man with which to paint a #bloodbowl hobgoblin. I'm very excited to get started, though I'm very happy I can at least add my own black and white paints to help out with this.
The previously-described four colours and sand, and a Hearthkyn warrior assembled with the head of a Grundstock Thunderer and the steam drill from the Dwarf Miner kit.

My mini and paints for the Travelling Man Age Of Painttober contest. The mini is a Leagues of Votann Hearthkyn Warrior. The basing material is some extremely basic uncoloured sand. The paints are a Citadel Kakophoni Purple (a very pastel purple), a Vallejo Brassy Brass (exactly what it says on the label), an Army Painter Hydra Turquoise (a mid-tone turquoise), and an AK Dark Sand (a very light sand-colour basically identical to the provided sand).

A bit sad my mini was 40k shite, but kitbashing is allowed, so we'll dig out some Kharadron bitz. Paint selection is cool - I'm already plotting some verdigris. And the sand is... sand.

I wanted to give the appearance of it getting darker the further from the cave entrance you got, so used less yellows and more reds, and blacks. The strings of slime are superglue I left to dry for half a minute and stretched it between surfaces-

Decided to make the Pathfinder be posed as though sniping from a cave, but so focused on their target that they didn't notice the tendrils of a Venomthrope snaking closer through the air-
