Lots of activity in the fields today.
Birds staying out of the heat and singing in the hedges. Butterflies flitting around and grass-hoppers chirping.
Below is a bee snacking on the beautiful blooming thistles and young wasps lunching on hogweed.

Nice to bump into some of the neighbours while out walking our dog tonight.
Thankfully our dog has now learned to say hello, show us his discovery and then go and look for something more interesting.

Ash tree sprouting leaves even though it fell in January
We made the decision not to chop up an ash tree which fell during the last storm.
This is inspired by lots of elder trees in the hedgerows which are growing on their sides.
As you can see it is still sprouting leaves on one side so hopefully it will stay healthy.
