This year marks the 395th anniversary of the construction of the Kõpu #Lighthouse in #Estonia, one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world. 🎉🎂🥂 The lighthouse was originally built as a daymark; it was not until 1649 that a lantern was added.

2024 was a banner year for #lighthouse tourism in #Estonia, with 94,000 people visiting the 12 lighthouses open to the public. The most popular was the #Sõrve Lighthouse, with over 25,000 visitors. The #Kõpu lighthouse (shown below) came in second, with almost 23,000.

To pair with tonight's dinner of boiled potatoes, stir fried sauerkraut and a huge, slowly roasted hunk of pork, I've gone with #Tuletorn brewing's "Give the People What they Want". At 10.5% ABV, this "smooth imperial stout loaded with chocolate and banana" is certainly robust. #CraftBeer #Estonia
