An adult Great Black-backed Gull is walking out of the surf holding a big Common Sea Star in it's bill
Not sure if I was more impressed by this good-looking GBB Gull or the massive starfish (Common Sea Star?) it was having for lunch at Sandbanks today

I came across this group of Turnstone and a Sanderling, standing on one colour-ringed leg. They were soon disturbed by a person walking down the groyne, but I re-found the Sanderling, this time on two legs

A Purple Sandpiper sits on a damp rock
Inspired by Christine's WhatsApp notification of Purple Sandpiper this morning, I went to Sandbanks to see what I could find. A flock of 20-30 suitable-sized birds flew off as I arrived, but I did find one still there!
