Just when you think Urban fantasy might be dead. Aaron comes out with another fun and engaging series! I loved that the body guard trope is gender flipped. I really enjoyed his highly competent golden retriever energy to counter her broodiness, it totally worked. I really enjoyed the heaven/hell inspired World building.- it felt deep and nuanced. I enjoyed that the potential romance Was not centered, but was on the back burner. The dual POV really worked. It was funny and dark.

I had kinda given up on urban fantasy (my favourite genre). Somehow it seemed like it was dead... And when I read Hell for Hire by Rachel Aaron.
