A gasshou roof house from Shirakawa-go that was relocated to Kawasaki, and then re-relocated to Nihon Minka-en, a gorgeous open air museum of traditional Japanese houses from around the country. It’s a stellar museum, beautifully landscaped.

This is the third time I’ve sketched Zojoji Temple with Tokyo Tower in the background. The multicolored banners and decorations were for New Years celebrations, and the family crest of the Tokugawa shogunate (of the book/movie “Shogun” fame) is the detail.
