An app I would gladly pay for: I hold my phone camera over a plate or food (at a party or other event) and it tells me whether there's meat in it. Having to keep asking random people "Do you think there's meat in this?" is not fun. #vegetarianism

Two grey tabby cats stare down from a perch in my old kitchen. Peeps is the smaller cat on the left. Her nose is pink; her muzzle is white. Bathead (pronounced "Bat Head") is the larger cat on the right. His fur is not striped; more like a watercolor wash of subtle browns and greys. A Bakelite toy rabbit, probably dating back to the 1950s, stands between the two cats.
