Yes. Just as much as #venomj confronting her trauma is important. Easily reachable material for kids especially who would see MJ and Dylan as heroic. Is important.
But. What about #eddiebrock? Where does he, as a canonically abused kid fit in?

In short #venomj and how they are removing #eddiebrock in this run were caused by internalized editorial and fan misogyny being reinforced.
Its like training a stray cat man. You give um treats thinking they will stay when they hiss at cats coming near food.

Essentially Marvel gave MJ no development by trying to force empowerment onto her thinking they could do something and placate their fan base with "look see we care!!"

You're not mad he was ultimately boning MJ.
You're not mad about him not being worthy of MJ.
You're mad because he wasn't worthy of *Peter.*

I think there *are* reasonable real world critiques to make about #venomj and I understand that a lot of my vitriol comes from passion and fear for my favorite character but nobody *hates* #eddiebrock or MJ and nobody even hates #PaulRabin.
