Another one... He feels Gent bite down on his shoulders again, and he too shudders with him.
They both collapse onto the bed. Gent rolled over from H's back onto his side.
"I don't hate you, idiot."
Strikholf, a planet ravaged by the singulairt of technology. Robots of incredible intelligance leave many jobless while polution ravages their bodies. As a result, gangs and corruption has overtaken much of the planet...but even so- where there is trouble, there are people to solve it. The panels show the planet, then people on the street, then a gang fight involving a wizard ratman, a ratman with a gun and an orc. A shadow shows a figure having a bad trip of whatever mysterious substance they just injected into themselves. And then, it shows a man, bloody and bruised, getting knocked out by one of our central protagonists. Jex. A woman with many features that are similar to fire and a rather smug face
Jex lets her glove cool off as one of the other boxers begins to rattle on. It being very apparent that their plan is to gang up and try to use their combined efforts to take on Jex. Boxer 1: "Alright, looks like we have a hotshot! Looks like we'll just have to t- OH Gods!" Jex interrupts the orcish man by lunging at him. Though he blocked the punch, he is still startled by the approach. Boxer 2: "You forgot one!" The human woman raises her fist to join into the fight but is met with a sudden elbow to the chest. An elven man with a paperboy cap tries to do a two handed hammer fist to Jex's back but she manages to dodge it, get behind him and then shove and elbow into the back of his neck, slamming him face first at her orcish opponent fast enough to make both tumble. The excessive use of elbows are definitely some sort of boxing violation but this isn't exactly a setting that cares. One meek sea colored boxer manages to get a light jab to the side of Jex's- one she barely even reacts to in terms of force, but gives a hearty grin to. Much to the dismay of this meek boxer.
Jex seems to ignite as she cries "This is gonna HURT!", before landing a flaming uppercut straight into the jaw of the meek man and sending him out of the ring into a chair with a crash.

Jex turns over with a sheepish slant, reacting to the trainer.
Trainer: "You got a letter, seemed urgent. Might be a secret admirer or some shit"
Jex: [vaulting out of the ring to receive the letter] "Shit, someone finally got the balls?"
Trainer: "'course not. Some suits sent it. Probably a gig"
Jex: [ incredulous ] "From suits huh? Sure."
Upon opening the letter she gives a look of surprise
Jex: "Wait, what in the fuck!? This is from the mayor himself-"
Elsewhere, a man with his face burned off holds a photo up to an unseen speaker. He sits in a dimly lit room and though he lacks a face to express himself, it seems his thoughts where parsed by the speaker nonetheless.
???: "Ez? There a problem with the choice"
Ez: "Oh, I trust your judgement miss. It's just that... She doesn't seem the investigator type. Nor does she have any education beyond ship repair, and she's too "fresh off the boat" to know the city. She kinda hust seems like muscle here. We have plenty of that.
