Golden poppy flowers are the focus. One bee is hovering over the flower with petals completely open in the lower area of the photo. Other poppies above this one are partially open. Foliage and seed pods are visible along with some small purple flowers at the upper portion of this vertical photo. As the California state flower, they appear cheerful and abundant. These flowers grace my Rotary Club’s Peace Garden.

The simple beauty of lavender colored pennyroyal flowers growing around a fence post with barb wire was irresistible. I had to pull my car over for a few photos. The aged vertical wood post appears to have green moss and lichen growing on it adding another texture to the rough grain.
Lavender colored pennyroyal flowers are growing upwards close to three sections of horizonal rusty barb wire. They are beautiful globe-like little flowers separated by thin short sections of stalk. The growth tapers to progressively smaller flowers all the way to the tips. The bonus to the beauty is the intense fragrance.
Here is one more photo of lavender colored pennyroyal flowers growing near a cow pasture along an aged barb wire and wood post fence. The rough wood appears to have various green moss and lichen growing on it. This is in Woodacre, CA.
