On November 19, 2025, 27-year-old Western lowland gorilla, Kumi, gave birth to a healthy baby at Zoo Knoxville. This was the zoo's first gorilla birth since 2016.

Asha, a 32-year-old Western Lowland Gorilla at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, is pregnant!
