Marguerite or The Deuce

2 oz Gin (@botanist here)
2 oz Lilet Blanc (or vermouth you like)
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Dried orange and Star Anise garnish

Grandmother of the Martini - this rewards more serious palettes. Pre-chill your glass for this one. Stirred not shaken. Traditionally, you'd hit this with an anisette (like Pernod), may in an atomizer Absinthe would be good too. I prefer to float it here. Sub a split, scraped (for another purpose) vanilla bean for the orange and Star Anise garnish if you're drinking this at midnight. This absolutely belongs in a coupe.

Spring means Gin. The grandmother of the Martini and for more sophisticated palettes. Take your botanical wines more seriously in your drinks folks. Notes in the alt. 🍸#cocktail #westvirginiadrinks #poliscidrinks
