#WhyPride? So we don't forget victims like Rene Almaraz who was slashed in the face by an Uber driver in Phoenix after the driver used a homophobic slur and reacted to the group's gay slang. The attack left Rene with “half his face peeled off,” according to police reports.

As they exited a restroom, a group of men assaulted them, leaving them with serious injuries. A bystander tried to intervene but was also beaten.
