#WordWeavers Apr 16: If your MC lived in our world, would they have good financial credit?

Joy does live in our world, and her credit is great because she steals the wealth of most of the arsehole people she murders. She often donates big chunks to the […]

#WordWeavers Apr 16: If your MC lived in our world, would they have good financial credit?

No, but largely not through any fault of her own. She's accustomed to subsistence farming, so she'd manage what she has well, but our economics are very different. (And farming is hard.)

Lysandra isn't old enough to have to worry about artificial capitalist nonsense like credit scores.

If your MC lived in our world, would they have good financial credit?

Slightly capitalism-brained question. Where and when in our world?

Ash (The Silk Mind) yes, he'd have a dull job and hate it but not get in debt trouble.

Aena (The Source of Fire) When she slips and […]

#WordWeavers 16/4: If your MC lived in our world, would they have good financial credit?

Depends how bad his case of wandering feet was here, and if he still turned it into a career or not. It's very expensive to not have a real home base, so he might well have debt problems.

#WordWeavers 16/4: If MC lived in our world, would she have good financial credit?
Despite her (now) high status, Jerya has no property of her own. So what would she carry over into our world? Of course it’s hypothetical but not a great place to start.

Ghosts, crows, and part-time employees. None of them has good credit.

#WordWeavers Apr 15: Is your antagonist more optimistic or pessimistic? Why?

They're pretty optimistic about their own plans and ambitions, but those are usually born of cynicism unless I'm just going for cartoonishly evil.

#WordWeavers Apr 15: Is your antagonist more optimistic or pessimistic? Why?

Even in just this WIP, they run the gamut from the arrogant god who thinks nothing can touch him, to the goddess who has contingency plans for revenge after her death, to [spoilers].

Is your antagonist more optimistic or pessimistic? Why?

In The Trovador, there are 2 antagonist-like characters.

Galeyn is cynically *idealistic*. I notice I tend to do that with dangerous, flawed characters (eg Joreth in disOrder)

Corwen is cynically *realistic*. I […]

He's more "Mad Scientists" than either, and i don't know where that falls on that particular spectrum.

#WordWeavers 15/4: Is your antagonist more optimistic or pessimistic? Why?
There isn’t really an ‘antagonist’ in recent books, not in the sense of an individual. Social forces and vested interests don’t really do optimism/pessimism. As for poor old…

#WordWeavers 15/4: Is your antagonist more optimistic or pessimistic? Why?

Neither! She has had her expectations ripped out from under her so completely and suddenly that she hasn't yet had a chance to form new hopes, fears, or plans. Life is just happening to her right now.

#WordWeavers Apr 14: Do your MCs tend to run more optimistic or pessimistic about life?

It really depends on the character's arc, but generally, they tend to be more optimistic about life than me.

#WordWeavers Apr 14: Do your MCs tend to run more optimistic or pessimistic about life? Why?

Probably optimistic, since I strongly prefer to tell more optimistic stories generally, but it depends on the story and the variation is large. Gotta have a few cynics in there.

I vary my MCs across this spectrum, or at least try to. Variety being the spice of life and all.
Current MC is hugely pessimistic due to an atrocious start in life.

Which one? They are all over the map. Mostly a mixture. I do tend toward depressed characters, though.

Well, yes and no.

#WordWeavers 14/4: Do your MCs tend to run more optimistic or pessimistic about life? Why?

Optimistic, because I would get bored writing a little guy who was just a downer about everything all the time.

#WordWeavers Apr. 13: Does your MC have a particular scent they love or hate due to their past?

Probably the smell of livestock poop. Lysandra will probably grow to hate a different scent by the end of #FirstFire, but to say more... SPOILERS.

Growing up, Jerya helped tend beehives, and she still has a taste for honey and a fondness for the smell of beeswax, whether in polish or in candles.

The smell of baking bread takes Fiyeli right back to his mother's house, a love memory for sure no matter how complicated it became to live there as he got older.
