Several layers of the spring stair steps down toward the camera with orange layers furthest away, the bubbling spring spraying drops of blue water into the air from a small blue pool surround by white travertine. The next layer has a blue pool spilling over the travertine edge with minerals leaving a small stalactite-like fangs of travertine that drip down to yellow layers.

Canary Spring on the Mammoth Hot Springs boardwalk has so many varied layers of travertine with blue water pools in spring. Often in late summer, the pools can dry up leaving the layers white instead..
