the beginning of the audio feels like i am in the south. #hwa4 #yingleshi
This really makes me wonder why our brains work like this and how else I can ultiize this knowldge for future SMEs #hwa4 #yingleshi
I think including the english text really solidified this idea and fooled with my brain a lot #hwa4 #yingleshi
I think this will definietly help me with next SMEs since it will allow me to take this into account when working on them and will remind me that how I view something and make sense of it will differ from someone else. #hwa4 #yingleshi
Like I feel like it made me realize how much we as people try and fill in gaps and things we dont know with things that make sense to us which can totoally affect meaning and intent. Ik it sounds confusing but its kinda hard to articulate #hwa4 #yingleshi

Wow this was such an experience!!! Super cool and I was totally engaged. I felt so many different things, confusion, serenity, provoked, eveything #hwa4 #yingleshi
I have felt a similar (but not as intense and not as long) feeling as this while listening to french and italian songs becaude my brain tries to make sense of sound and tries to hear what it wants in english #hwa4 #yingleshi
It rly is such a different experince reading the English text and then looking away!! #hwa4 #yingleshi
I feel like I can better replicate these sounds that are common in Chinese now that used to be so much harder to pronounce because of this wow! #hwa4 #yingleshi
The I dont understand English part makes me laugh cuz it rly sounds like that to me but rly isnt and carries so much meaning. It just shows how sounds can carry so much and such different meanings #hwa4 #yingleshi
For most of it I was so curious why the English words were so short in sound compared to the Chinese but then I realized that so much of the "uh" and singing noises carried meaning themselves! #hwa4 #yingleshi
This is honestly such a creative idea like I've never seen anything like this #hwa4 #yingleshi
The more I look at the English words the more my brain tries to hear English to make sense of it #hwa4 #yingleshi
It's so funny how I keep trying to hear English words, though not as much as the first time #hwa4 #yingleshi
Lisetening to this makes me feel calm and for some reason takes me to a peaceful garden #hwa4 #yingleshi
#yingleshi #hwa4 the ending of the story back with do you speak Chinese is so literary like,, no I don’t but maybe I do a little more than before?
#yingleshi #hwa4 the pauses for the Chinese phrasing that split up the English words makes it feel so much longer
#Hwa4 #yingleshi the switch of music at the robbery section really reengaged me it also felt weirdly dissonant and out of place… anti environment core?
#yingleshi #hwa4 I wonder what this would be like if it was like flipped? Like the story was written in Chinese and then the sounds were translated some how I don’t know if it would work as well though?
#yingleshi I find myself not really looking at the Chinese translations even when I want to because I’m so subconsciously focused on when the sounds are going to connect to form the English word
#yingleshi #hwa4 why is it that punctuation changes in the pronunciation like how did he determine where to move exclamation points?
#yingleshi #hwa4 something about this feels so wrong and intrusive, like why am I trying to hear English or dumbing down very intelligent/poetic language to what then sounds like badly pronounced English
#yingleshi #hwa4 I definitely am hearing alot of “uh” sounds added like difference-uh. I think this is something to do with the equivalent of the s consonant in Chinese based on where it most seems to be happening
#yingleshi #hwa4 I wonder what this would have sounded like spoken fast and fluently, would you still hear the English words would they be harder or easier to understand
#yingleshi Paying attention for the whole video was very hard but I did enjoy it
#hwa4 #yingleshi
After hearing this I am curious what other pieces in media exist like this. THis was quite unique and it shows how endless our access to media is and how many different forms there are outside the "norm"
#hwa4 #yingleshi
A moment where I stopped to try and understand was when I began to hear english incorporated because I wasn't sure if it was true or if I was making it up. This may also be true with my SME because it it may be nonsense sometimes but then feel like it is making sense.
#hwa4 #yingleshi
This piece disrupted the way I think about translation because it was truly a blend of language and culture. The core idea of yingleshi is that translation and a combination not a direct transfer
#hwa4 #yingleshi
The part that stood out to me the most was obviously the big switch in music that happened towards the end. What this may change with my SME is how intentional I am with putting ym sound distortion. Because if its the part I remembr most about this then it will be important for mine
