the Space trio had failed on stuff before, but this is a bit tricky to explain... i mean, when you think about it... they do get distressed and upset, but then try to fix it as soon as possible and in their own way.

Soleil doesn't need glasses but those are not exactly "fake" and yes tools for investigating and gathering information from targets.
