The pic shows a detailed view of the grand spiral galaxy M81. It fills most of the frame against a deep, black space dotted with stars. Just in the center sits a bright, glowing golden-yellow core that shines warmly. Flowing out from it are these elegant blue spiral arms with soft hints of pink, and sparkling with thousands of tiny stars. Dark, dramatic dust lanes snake through the galaxy, adding wonderful texture and strong contrast. The whole image has this majestic, almost painterly feel.
