As a writer, I'm disappointed I won't be getting money in the Anthropic settlement for books that weren't on the list of stolen IP, but what's really going to keep me up at night is that even the computer didn't want to read my novels.
Attending the meeting: "Dario Amodei, Anthropic’s chief executive, met with the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles; Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent; and 'others'."
Well, we knew Grandpa Chaos wasn't in the meeting; he didn't even know what Anthropic was...

New on the Anthropic settlement from the @authorsguild.org : over 91% (!!) of eligible books were claimed as of the claims deadline (I would not have predicted such a high number!)
Looks like the payout will be close to the $3000 originally estimated authorsguild.org/news/anthrop...
You'd think @nytimes.com would have mentioned Anthropic hired a lobbyist close to Trump last week in this article on it landing a White House meeting 🎁🔗
Reporter: “Did Anthropic have a meeting at the White House?”
Trump: “Who?”
Reporter: “Anthropic.”
Trump: “I have no idea.”
I think Anthropic has fucked Claude's harness (Claude Code) up pretty badly with the latest two releases. I'm still using Opus 4.6 but it's performing really badly.
Multiple news outlets say Anthropic's CEO is at the WH today. It's said to be a "high-stakes meeting" re. restrictions on use of AI by the gov't.
In other words, the fact that he has no knowledge of that meeting is further evidence of his dementia.
Q: Did Anthropic have a meeting at the White House?
TRUMP: Who?
Q: Anthropic.
TRUMP: I have no idea. *walks away*
Zuck blew how much on his Metaverse flop?! 🤨
"The bloodbath is unfolding as Zuckerberg shifts more resources toward the development of AI. Meta, which is scrambling to keep pace with rivals like Anthropic and OpenAI, has teed up $135 billion in capital spending this year alone."

Sam Altman’s Stargate datacenter in Abilene, Texas, will be “roughly the size of New York’s Central Park," while OpenAI’s Project Jupiter in New Mexico could be larger still. Amazon and Anthropic are developing Project Rainier on 1,200 acres outside Indiana.
There is an argument to be made that both OpenAI and Anthropic are in fact very, very bad at their stated purpose of being AI companies but very good at their secondary purpose of generating investor buzz and that reflects poorly on their tangible outcomes.

The Trump administration seeks US government access to Anthropic's Mythos AI model, which can identify and exploit zero-day vulnerabilities.
Despite what Anthropic and OpenAI would like me to believe, I have yet to see any evidence to suggest that any of the existing models will lead to AGI.
AGI requires something we don't have, namely "the part that makes it self aware." Not only do we not have this, but we have no idea how to make it.
A few hours before Anthropic announced the launch of its newest model, Claude Mythos Preview, on April 7, I had just completed a six-month analysis of

“Anthropic’s chief executive met w/ White House officials on Friday .. both sides described as ‘productive,’ as the Trump administration works to forge a compromise that would bring the artificial intelligence company’s technology back into the government” www.nytimes.com/2026/04/17/t...
it's still not nearly as good as Claude Code but openai's codex is a looot more usable than it was a few months ago. im slightly less desperate for work to get the BAA signed with Anthropic than i thought I'd be lol
