Some recent woodfired work, experiments with stemmed forms. I'm shocked they all survived the kiln.

Running or biking for base conditioning. Once or twice a week high intensity stair master. Rowing once or twice a week for upper body conditioning. Saturday sprints up an 8 story building, elevator down, repeat 20 times. Nothing beats time on actual stairs.

Thats from the Klairmont in Chicago, and I believe the tires are reproductions using original tooling.

For #OldWorkWednesday, this piece represents the very start of my life in pottery. A sketch in clay using my partners offcuts. I still love this piece.

Yup. It has....seen some things. Don't drive it much anymore, but don't see anything on the market that can replace it. Love that thing.

My partner mentioned the freezer method, but I'm sceptical. Will probably start with that because it seems the easiest.

What type of tape is that? I haven't found a tape that sticks well to bisque.

Small square bud vase, woodfired with a sharp horizontal shadow line and multiple ash drips.

Another piece of recently finished woodfired pottery. This bud vase was surrounded by a donut vase in the kiln, creating a rather sharp shadow line in the ash.

I've been slowly cleaning up the heavier ashed pots from last year's woodfiring. This is one of my favorites. Unfortunately it is severely cracked.

I love the crackled blue fading into copper. I got that effect one time on a tiny portion of a pot and have been trying to replicate it ever since.
