It's #oldworkwednesday! Here's a Gerald Okamura figure by Max Toy Co that I painted for a Design Con ages ago.

Yet another piece from the 2010’s…

Another piece from the 2010’s.
A 3" action figure from the modular Glyos series. This one a Buildman type. The head is custom, a large eyeball made from glow in the dark polymer clay. The body glows as well, and has been airbrushed in neon colors.
Is #oldworkwednesday still a thing? Nevermind. Here's a #Glyos figure I painted 15 years ago, with a custom head made of glow in the dark clay.
#OldWorkWednesday #Art #Sharpie
I drew this back in North Carolina in the mid 2010’s with sharpie markers under a previous signature. Enjoy!
An acrylic painting of a landscape dominated by saxophones and sheet music, like the ruins of a civilization. In the background is a moody cloudy sky that fades from purple at the top to a yellow orange near the horizon

It’s Wednesday, you know what to do!
Today’s #OldWorkWednesday piece is from 1983, and a very rare (for me) painting. This piece would earn me a scholarship to Siena Heights College, and be the catalyst to all the life events that brought me to this very moment 🤯
"Dimensional Rift" 20x16" acrylic on canvas. Peering between dimensions, what would you see? I see an infinite cosmos looking back at me. This is best described as "A portal to another reality where what you see is a rainbow of space, surrounded by multicolored textural geometric constructs of the portal." Artist: Brian Blakesley at Chaotically Creative Studios

What would you see if you looked into another dimension? This is my idea.
#Oldworkwednesday again, this time one and only #SengokuBasara #戦国BASARA. First two works are from 2007, last two from 2016.
A “sculpture” from my Found Object phase. The remains of a manikan head, mostly the nose, mouth and jawline hosts various electronic elements looking like a trashed cyborg head. Much punk, so edgy
Another from my Found Object phase. The body of a model German Tiger tank (unpainted snap-tight), tge turret has been replaced with tge head from a baby doll, but now has a mohawk and chain headband (vigorously saying nothing to the viewer. Not even an apology)
A “drawing” made with color pastels. There is a purple patch across the bottom of the page, red sloped horizontal stripes on the right top third, a thick grey squiggle across the center left with a black drop shadow. Where the shapes converge is a small male figure in a white suit wearing bunny ears. The top left of the page is a pair of actual footprints done with blue pastel colors. There is a pair of rabbit ears on one of the big toes. 40 years later thr artist feels shame
A drawing made with color pastels is a simple horizontal strip of blacktop roadway with a yellow dotted libe doen the middle. There are brown stripes that look like the road border, with green stripes representing vegetation. Towards the top of the piece fades from grey to blue representing the sky. Yes, this WAS done by a college art major 🙄

Me first! Technically @scottkersey.bsky.social was first. I present to you a collection of pieces from my college years, when I thought that I was being “edgy” and “punk.” That was just a smokescreen for ‘not nearly as good as I thought I was.” 😳
A small “sculpture” made with the body and turret from an American army tank but instead of tracks it walks on two legs taken from a baby doll

It’s Wednesday, you know what to do!
Today’s #OldWorkWednesday piece is from 1985, back when I had gone from abstract to found objects (before realizing I like clay). Proof that age doesn’t = it good, or avante grade. Yet the symbolism of the piece stayed with me
Illustration of young Akagi (from manga of the same name) sitting at the mahjong table with a gun in his hand and in his mouth, his head bleeding.
Illustration of adult Akagi (from manga of the same name) sitting on tatami floor in front of bowl full of blood coming from his bleeding arm, surrounded by katana and Japanese yokai floating behind him.
First #Oldworkwednesday of 2025 with my best boy Akagi! These are from 2008 I believe. Still cannot wrap my head around that the final match against Washizu in the manga took 20 years to finish... #FKMT #illustration
An open faced clay reliquary made of a mixture of white stoneware and terra cotta looks vaguely like a red and white marble. The base is supported on small pillars and is filled with dried green plants. The main body has arched openings on 3 sides, the 4th is open to the viewer. Inside are more colorful dried flowers and a white clay sculpture of the head and torso of an armor clad young woman. The top portion is supported by 4 more pillars supporting a flat roof. Inside are some more dried green leaves.

Today’s #OldWorkWednesday piece is from 1990. “For Ophelia” is 6 x 7 x 16 inches and made from clay and dried flowers

This image of a still like painting has a minimalistic set up on a table top with a plain ivory tablecloth. The entire still life is dramatically lit with the majority of it falling into shadow. Two stones on the far left are completely in shadow and sit side-by-side. To the right is a human skull. The light falls across the front of the skull with the remaining areas in shadow. A straggly branch sits on the table curving over top of the stones with its smaller branches going behind, over, and below the skull. Light casts a strong shadow onto the background of the branch and skull.
It's also #oldworkwednesday and I'm digging back into my skull narrative series, works based thematically around the idea that 'bones contain stories, so I told stories with bones'.
